I want to give my floor a more neutral or cool tone but was hoping not to have to go to a super dark stain.
Floor stain not dark enough.
If it isn t apply another single coat of stain and allow it to dry.
I did not want them quite this dark.
Sounds like the customer is ok with ebony or darker.
If the wood is not dark enough let the first coat dry completely and apply another coat of stain in the same manner allowing to dry completely after wiping away the extra stain.
White oak new install to stain as dark as possible this week.
We were in love with the color and might have sang love songs to it.
The above sample of floor i hand rubbed the stain into the floor and then wiped it off pretty hard.
If you want to see more of the wood grain make sure to wipe the stain off and rub it into the wood really well.
If the color is not dark enough at this point add another layer of stain and clean it again.
Examine the restained area to determine if it is dark enough to match the stain around it.
Once it starts to dry it is harder to remove.
I should have asked our floor guy to do the same and never thought of it.
Use a cloth to wipe away the stain.
I have 500 ft small enough to try something new of 3 1 4 1comm.

I know that white oak does not take stain as well as red but time restrictions would not allow me to wait for something everyone was out of.
Work in small areas as you do not want the stain to start to dry.
